He is a student and she's unemployed and they are both trying to get work but nothing is happening

I feel for them candlelight, I really do. This makes me sound particularly old, but when I was 18 I walked from one job to another regularly and so did most of my peers at the time.

In the same boat as your son now though, as are many, many others.

I am a right grump today though. Went out earlier and noticed there's almost a full moon - I'm thinking it may be having an effect for some reason! Will have to monitor it from now on.
