This seems to be as a result of the Baby P case.
It could bethat the S.W.D are panicking and taking children in low risk situations from their family homes in order to stop someone cocking up again,it may be an over reaction on their part.

The thing that upsets me is that children's homes don't have a good track record , many cases of abuse happening in these institutions have been reported,and there is little or no provision for the young adults who are old enough to leave them.

I can understand social services getting involved if there is a genuine reason. Saying this, they all too often fail when a child is in danger and miss all the vital signs of abuse. They appear to target families that could probably just do with a little guidance and understanding of their situation.

Children's homes are awful places for a child to be and I've never heard anything positive about any of them.

Same here. Never a good word.
