Hi, all! I'm a bit of a book (and audio-book) addict, so I thought I would start a "what are you all currently reading?" thread. I don't read quite as much as I used to, as the old ME has boogered my concentration up somewhat, but I've always got a book on the go! I'm currently reading "Louis the Well-Beloved", by Jean Plaidy, the first book in her French Revolution trilogy. It's very good (although the print's a bit small for me these days, lol!) I love reading books with an historical theme, and also crime novels (especially classic crime such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh). I tend not to read much non-fiction - the last non-fiction book I read was "The Prodigal God", by Tim Keller, a few months ago. It was instructive and improving but not exactly a page-turner lol! A few weeks ago my OH found "The Weaker Vessel: Women's Lot in the 17th Century" by Antonia Fraser in a charity shop - which does actually look really interesting so I shall tackle that soon! So what books do you all have on the go? Mandy

the first part of the trilogy neuromancer, is a classic! it was written in 84 or something crazy, and influenced the matrix and ghost in the shell among others. look it up, hes a visionary. now he writes crappy modern day thrillers though sadly. william gibson, cool guy. can't score home runs all the time i guess.

I'm a big reader I go for fiction as a rule. But good fiction that reflects 'reality' if you know what I mean... Currently re-reading Stephen Kings 'Hearts In Atlantis', which is composed of five linked stories set in the years from 1960 to 1999. Each story is deeply rooted in the 60's, & each is haunted by the Vietnam war. Highly recommended

I've been a lazy git recently where reading is concerned. I need to get back on it big time.

Highly recommended Read it, though it was some years ago now. I got quite an extensive collection of Stephen King's... the man is pure genius for pulling you in... fabulous stuff At the moment, I have a pile of antique reference books beside me which my nose is into quite alot of the time. Need to read a novel of some sort again soon before I forget how to. I blame the internet |
