Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a physical sensation characterized by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp, and often moves down the spine and through the limbs.
Most ASMR episodes begin by an external or internal trigger, and are so divided for classification. Type A episodes are elicited by the experiencer using no external stimuli, and are typically achieved by specific thought patterns unique to the individual. Type B episodes are triggered involuntarily by an external trigger, via one or more senses, and may also involve specific thought patterns associated with the triggering event. Both types of triggers vary between individuals, but many are common to a large portion of ASMR enjoyers.
Common external triggers:
Exposure to slow, accented, or unique speech patterns
Viewing educational or instructive videos or lectures
Experiencing a high empathetic or sympathetic reaction to an event
Enjoying a piece of art or music
Watching another person complete a task, often in a diligent, attentive manner - examples would be filling out a form, writing a check, going through a purse or bag, inspecting an item closely, etc.
Close, personal attention from another person
Haircuts, or other touch from another on head or back
theres also a billion youtubes.
so what do you guys think? do you get the feel? some things piss me off like people unwrapping stuff if im trying to do something else, like in the fucking movies and you have all your god damn riesen chocolate chews and a fucking soda that is nothing but ice, and you keep shaking it like you are summoning more. guess what, its just a mouthful of water you fat fuck. go get some from the fountain outside.
but other times, crinkle noises are pretty nice. i think its the silence most of all, interrupted gently with the soft noises.

I feel stuff like that all the time.
Wasn't aware there was a name for it though
I'm guessing it would all have to be based on how sensitive (in all aspects), a person was to begin with. And their ability to connect it with their mind.
I do alright in that department. Which most of the time, is a good thing.

This sounds a bit fetishy...BUT, I really like the sound of heels clicking on concrete.
Can't tell you why. I could listen to it for hours.
When I was younger, someone gave me a pair of those tap-shoes with the little metal bits in the heels. LOVED THEM!!!!

It's true. Clipety-clop, clipety-clop...
I don't really have the legs for it now, but I was also rather partial to my mother's sling-backs (at the risk of turning into an absolute cliche) in my 'yoot'.
I seem to have successfully managed to be a constant source of disappointment to my father - he just never got the 'clipety-clop' angle, unfortunately.

I get that sensation sometimes when listening to music - I never knew there was a proper name for it!
Since others seem in the mood for strange "confessions", I also used to get that feeling when I was younger from scratching my nails along certain types of fabric! And I'm not the only one! There was a discussion about it years ago on John Peel's "Home Truths" programme on Radio 4! Weird..!

LOL! I don't mind if people think it's a bit weird - cos it is a bit weird! Just a small example of my many and varied eccentricities!
