I hear this excuse all the time. What you fail to realise is that zombies have feelings too. They're invariably "hungry" for a start.

The worrying thing about it all is what will be left of a human being if this gun is developed further and actually used.

It sounds as though it affectively disables brain function to the extreme in that the unfortunate victim is rendered 'zombie' like.
