I just wanted to say how unbelievably overwhelmed I am so far at how this little forum is working out - the positivity and action that has been going on is really quite something.

yes it defeats the purpose doesnt it.

and it works both ways...when people know their PMs are compromised elsewhere, they will stop using them as much. So they effectively will use the site less...and spend less time there....which to me is the opposite of what any given site aims for.
